What is a roadbook?
A guide describing a route step by step, with distances, directions and places of interest. Plan your stops and stages, then follow the route at your own pace. Practical information on sights, overnight stops and facilities complements the navigation.
Which roadbooks are available in English?
Ardennes Without Borders, From Freyr to Maredsous, From Bioul to Genval, Between Fortresses and Borders (Alcántara to Sabugal), The Sentinels of the Tejo (Malpica to Marvão), Chimay and the Avesnois, the Crépy-en-Valois loop north of Paris, the complete Sardinia route, and Iceland are available as English digital editions: PDF + GPX.
What does my purchase include?
The English-language PDF roadbook and GPX navigation files. Extract any ZIP archive and read the PDF on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
When can I download my roadbook?
Your digital files are available after your order and payment are confirmed. See our download guide.
Are GPX files included?
Yes, the navigation files are included with your digital roadbook.
Can I use my own GPS?
Yes, if your GPS or app supports GPX files and this type of navigation. Check compatibility and test the files before departure.
My GPS uses OZI or another format. Can you help?
Contact us with the required format and your GPS model. We will try to convert the files for your device. Not every GPS supports this type of navigation.
How are routes prepared?
We study the region, maps and places of interest, then check our research through on-the-ground reconnaissance. Roads, landscapes, villages, stops and useful facilities all inform the preparation. We estimate that developing one day of roadbook requires three to six days in the field. Reconnaissance in different seasons helps refine our advice. The guide brings together navigation instructions and practical information for planning your stages.
Do I need special equipment?
Check the vehicle and tyre requirements for your chosen route and read the equipment section. Carry a spare tyre in good condition of the same type as those fitted, your locking wheel nut key and suitable tools.
Do routes cross private land?
GreenTracers never sends customers onto private roads, paths or land. Routes follow accessible roads and tracks. Restrictions can change: always follow current signs and adapt to the conditions.
How do I report a change along the route?
Do not enter a closed road. Let us know what has changed so we can improve our roadbooks and update access information.
Is the Trans-Ardennaise available?
It remains unavailable while it is being rewritten.
Where can I find the English roadbooks?
Our English catalogue shows the available English editions.
